Taras Kowaliw is a Guest Researcher at L'institut des Systèmes Complexes - Paris Île-de-France (ISC-PIF), where he pursues research in machine learning.

Recently, he has been a Research Associate at Monash University in Melbourne, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Taras' research interests include: automated design, evolutionary computation, pattern recognition, electronic art, and visualization. He's also worked in the design of accessible user interfaces.
